The Dental Team
Our dental team consists of four dentists, five dental hygienists, one
dental therapist, one practice manager, six dental nurses and three
receptionists. All of the dental team are motivated and trained to a high
standard of care. Courses are attended by all members of the practice to
ensure knowledge on all aspects from clinical to customer care.
The Dental Surgeons
| Dr Robert Brown qualified with honours at Trinity College Dublin in
1978. He spent two years doing hospital work before joining the
practice in 1980 as an associate and became a full partner in 1982.
Since 1982 to 1994 he was a committed NHS practitioner and helped to
keep the practice up to date in all areas for the benefit of the
patients and the team. In 1994 he led the practice into the private
sector under the Denplan banner, which has since proved to be the
only way to maintain the high standards of care. He is an active
member of the BDA and is the association's local secretary and press
officer. |

Dr Greg Whittingham qualified at the University of Newcastle upon
Tyne in 1991. From there he moved to the Cornish Coast, working as
an associate for his uncle, seeing mainly NHS patients at a busy
family practice. Greg joined Cowplain Dental practice in 1998 as a
partner. His aim was to provide better quality treatment and
preventative dentistry in the private sector, than was possible on
the NHS. |
| Dr Joe Perold qualified as a dentist at the University of
Stellenbosch in South Africa in 1985. He immediately went into
private practice in South Africa and spent fourteen years in a
family orientated practice covering all spheres of general
dentistry.
Since 1999 to 2004 he worked as a NHS dentist in England. He
joined Cowplain Dental Practice as a partner in 2003. |

Fellowship of General Dental Practitioners from the Royal College of
Surgeons of England in 2004. |
The Practice Manager
| Mrs Jeanie Brumhill is a long standing member of our team who has
seen many changes in dentistry.
She is responsible for the day to day running of the practice to
ensure patient and team needs are met at all times. |

Our Receptionists
 |
|
|
Jan and Lisa
They have both been at the practice for some time and hold a
wealth of knowledge.
They ensure the front of house is running smoothly and
efficiently. |
|
The Dental Hygienists
|
We have a highly trained, dedicated oral hygienist team which
works parallel to our dentists. They are there to implement
important maintenance programs and to promote better
understanding of preventative techniques. The frequency of
your visits will be determined by your individual needs. This
is essential to our preventative strategy |

The Nursing Team

|
All the nurses have a recognised qualification or are actively
involved in obtaining their qualification. Continued education such
as emergency procedures and infection control procedures are part of
our practice. |
